QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • My watch has stopped twice overnight.Wednesday night at 0400. Friday night 1805. Why does this occur please?

    Hi,

As it is an automatic watch, it relies on the mainspring being wound by sufficient movement on your arm during the day.

Around 8 hours of "normal" wear should wind the watch enought to leave dormant for around 24 hours usually.

The fact it has stopped overnight, presumably when not worn or with limited movement, leads me to believe this is the case.

To remedy this, either wear more durng the day or alternatively, put 8 to 10 manual winds on the watch when you take it off at night.

This is not a fault in the watch, you just need to be aware of how it works, esentially.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks.

  • How does the screw down winder work. It seems to be very proud of the casing during operation?

    Hi,

The crown has a thread on it and so does the case. When you fasten it down by hand, it locks
onto a seal to aid the water resistancy of the watch.

The seal and thread do make it stand proud, but you also need to be able to grip it so you can
    open/close and set the hands.

As it is screwed to the case, there is little chance of it being caught and snapped off like a standard
    push in crown and stem.

    Hope this clarifies for you,

    Thanks
